On Saturday, January 24th, in Columbus, Ohio State football fans will gather for a National Championship Celebration to formally honor the Buckeye win over Oregon.
Beginning at 11 a.m. ET at Ohio Stadium, fans will be able to witness Urban Meyer and the rest of the football team during an on-field celebration. Gates at The ‘Shoe will open at 9:30 a.m. The event is free to the public and is scheduled to last until noon. Seating will be located in both the A and AA decks. The south stands will be closed.
Earlier this week, Ohio State announced that 2,500 tickets will go on sale for anyone who would like to stand on the field during the ceremony. These tickets became available online at 10 a.m. ET on Wednesday at ticketmaster.com, by calling Ticketmaster at 1-800-745-3000, and at the Ohio State Ticket Office.
Parking for the event is free, located in all surface lots and in the Lane, West Lane, Tuttle, Northwest, Neil Avenue and Arps parking garages on campus.
Per Ohio State’s Jerry Emig, The Columbus Dispatch will be selling copies of its Jan. 13, 2015 newspaper at two locations outside the stadium. Fans in attendance will receive a free rally towel upon entrance, and a poster while leaving. For fans getting to the event early, the scoreboard will be showing the second half of the National Title game beginning at 9:30 a.m.
If you are in Columbus and unable to make it to the event, or live too far away, don’t worry, you’re also in luck. The Celebration will be shown live on the Big Ten Network. Audio will also be provided live on 97.1 The Fan, a Columbus sports radio station.
What began as a shaky season with a loss at home to Virginia Tech turned out to be a season that will not soon be forgotten. Third string quarterback Cardale Jones was put into the fire for three straight elimination games to end the season, each of which had Ohio State as the underdog. Don’t miss your chance to show your appreciation to this team led by coach Meyer.
