Luis Suarez says that it's odd he has not been included on the Ballon d'Or shortlist but will not kick up a fuss for fear of repercussions.
The striker also insisted that he was never close to a move to Real Madrid from Liverpool, but that conversations about it had taken place.
Suarez, who is preparing to return to his former side Ajax on Wednesday night for Barcelona's Champions League clash at the Amsterdam ArenA, spoke to Al Primer Toc on RAC1.
"To be chosen as the best player in the hardest league in the world, like the Premier League, to be the top scorer in Europe with Cristiano Ronaldo and not to be on that list is something that would catch the eye of all the world," said Suarez.
"But I'd rather keep quiet than say something, because that would be worse."
Suarez explained that it was a dream to sign for Barcelona and when asked about Madrid's interest he said: "There were conversations but not at any moment did I feel close to the white club."
The hitman says he is adjusting to La Liga but doesn't mind Luis Enrique using him across the front-line.
"The coach knows where to use the players. I play in any attacking position. I already did it at Liverpool and Ajax.
