What do you think of Brendan Rodgers' decision to rest so many first-choice players? Have Liverpool got an earthly tonight? Is Carlo Ancelotti a great manager or one who makes terrific decisions about the clubs he chooses to manage? Answers to these and any other thoughts to mananaslam4009@gmail.com
22.12 Here is Henry Winter's match report, live from the Bernabeu. Enjoy.
22.10 Right, that's about all I can contribute this evening. Although Liverpool lost I think the performances of Toure, Can and Lallana offer great encouragement to arrrest this barren run. Perhaps what Rodgers did with his selection offended some people's notion of the spirit of this tournament and the occasion tonight but it's hard to argue that he did not do the right thing for his club. Two victories in their last two games will put them through and Rodgers now has food for positive thought. Thanks for your emails and company since 6pm. I'll leave you with the thoughts of Adam Lallana, below. We'll be back tomorrow when Chelsea take on Maribor and CSKA visit Manchester City. Please join us then. Good night.
Adam Lallana: "We had a couple of half chances and we were always in it until the last minute. We knew it would be a difficult place to come but we showed we've got fight and we're still in the competition. We've got to win the last two games. We know it's going to be tough.
